What is RSS?
Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is an XML-based format for content
distribution that includes headlines, summaries and links.
Hill Creek Veterinary Hopsital offers a RSS feed for Sawyer's Web Log.
How do I use these feeds?
You subscribe to the feeds you are interested in using a piece of software
called a News Reader, which manages your subscriptions and presents their
content to you in a readable format. (RSS files themselves
are not really human-readable!)
What is a News Reader?
A News Reader (or 'Aggregator') is a software tool which enables you to
have the latest news headlines, in RSS format, delivered straight to your desktop.
News readers can be stand-alone programs, or Web-based.
Where can I get a News Reader?
There are a range of different News Readers available. The choice of which to
use is up to you. Different News Readers work on different operating systems,
so you will need to take this into account when you make your choice.
Lists of news readers for Windows, Apple Mac and Linux operating systems can be
found by at: http://email.about.com/od/rssfeedreaders/.
